How we check facts

A story about something strange only works if it is true. These are the rules every WeirdBank video and article follows.

Two independent sources for every fact

Nothing goes into a script or an article until two independent sources back it. Independent means the second source did its own reporting or research. Two articles where one rewrites the other count as one source, and a fact that only one site repeats is not used.

We read the sources ourselves

We open and read every source we cite: the study, the record, the original report. A headline or a summary is never enough. When sources disagree, we say so, or we leave the claim out.

Every story lists its sources

Each story page ends with the sources its facts rest on, with links, so you can check them yourself. The video descriptions on YouTube list them too.

Clear, not sensational

We explain every term the first time it appears and never assume you already know the background. We do not use jokes or exaggeration to make a story more exciting than the facts allow. On health and science, we report what studies actually found, including their limits, and we do not give medical advice.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Write to hello@weirdbank.net with the story and what you think is wrong. We check it against the sources, correct the page, and note the change on it.
