About

A weird world, full of true stories.

WeirdBank tells weird true stories: the facts that sound made up, and how they really happened.

What we publish

Every story starts as a short animated video, one to two minutes long, posted on YouTube and on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. On this site each story also gets a full written article that goes further than the video: the background, how it happened, what the evidence shows, and what is still uncertain.

The subjects are wide on purpose: animals, science, health, history, the founders behind famous brands, and the odd ways the mind works. What they share is a true event at the center.

How we work

We write to inform, not to shock. That means no jokes at the expense of the facts, no guessing, and no claims we cannot back up. Every fact is checked against two independent sources before it goes into a video or an article, and every story lists its sources with links. Read our full standards.

We explain every story from the start. If a word or an idea needs explaining, we explain it where it first appears, so nobody needs to know the background already.
